Simple, Special, Stunning!!!

It is time for the December edition of Simple Special Stunning at the SheetLoad of Cards blog, featuring samples by Denise Wallace.

Each month one of our artists will share three different cards that use the current layout. Each card is a "step up" from the previous one, but they are all fabulous. It is a good way to show how SheetLoad is geared toward papercrafters of all levels.

Here are some sneak peeks to whet your appetite...

A SheetLoad card

Good morning! It's a crisp day out here today. I'm hoping it will warm up a bit. We had a great weekend (except for the crazy weather). We had a couple of parties to attend and they were a lot of fun.

On to some scrappy stuff. Today I have a card I made using the December SheetLoad sketch. I had fun with this one.

I used some old Crate paper, Copics, Tim Holtz Distress ink, Stickles, Kaiser bling, sewing machine and Making Memories epoxy stickers.

Well that's it for today, I'm off to volunteer at the school in the Santa store. The kids get to buy presents for their mom and dad and we wrap them up for them. Should be fun. Have a great day!

Today I have my Humble Pie Challenge. It's a fun one. You need to head over to Kim's blog and pick a card and "lift" it. She has so many cards that are gorgeous it was hard to choose, but I chose the one from this post. I really liked the idea of this house card. I thought it was super cute. Here is my take:

Humble Pie Friday!

TGIF!! Can you believe it's the last Friday in November? I'm really not sure where this month has gone. I felt like the holiday season has just crept up on me.

Today I have my Humble Pie card. This weeks challenge was to do a monochromatic card. Well I decided to go non-traditional and do a brown Christmas card. I was unsure how it would turn out but I'm really happy with the results.

I used Maggie with the string of lights, My Mind's Eye paper, Copic markers and spica pens, Stickles, Prima flowers, Kaiser pearls, Savvy'n'Sassy ribbon, Making Memories tiny letters

Well that's it for the week. I hope you have a great weekend and if you are in Canada, enjoy the big football game!

Chistmas card mania!!!

Good morning! It was a busy weekend here. I got to go to the Bloomin Inn this weekend and we had a great time. I made Christmas cards all weekend. I decided on 3 designs and then just mass produced them. I got 41 done. Not bad! So here are a couple I did. I used my new Magnolia stamps that I got from Little Stamp Shoppe. I had resisted getting Magnolias because I didn't need another stamp addiction, LOL. But when I saw these Christmas stamps, I fell in love. I knew I want them for my cards this year. So this is what I came up with:

Materials: Magnolia stamps, My Minds Eye paper, Copic markers, Stickles, Fiskars border punch, Stampin' UP stamp

Materials: Magnolia stamps, Basic Grey paper, Cuttlebug embossing folders, spellbinders, Copic markers, Stickles, Sewing machine, Stampin Up stamps, Fiskars border punch.

Well that's it for today, I'm hoping to get to some baking and maybe a few Christmas gifts. Enjoy your day!

Simple, Special, Stunning!!!

This time it's my turn to do the Simple, Special, Stunning feature at SheetLoad of Cards. Here is the idea, you take the sketch from the November issue of SheetLoad and you make 3 cards. One is simple:

All I did was follow the sketch to the letter and added very little.

The next is stepped up a notch to make it Special:

Here I added some Copic coloring and some sewing

And the last is over the top to make it Stunning:

And to make this stunning I hand cut the "Santas" out and popped them up. I added Stickles to the image and more embellishments. I also use transparency as my card base.

I hope you enjoyed a look at Simple, Special, Stunning. Have a great Saturday and see you soon!

It's Humble Pie Friday!

TGIF!! It's Friday again and that means a new challenge at the Humble Pie blog. This week the challenge was to make an altered item. If you don't have Humble Pie stamps, that's ok you can still play along.

What I did for the challenge was to make a little tag journaling book for the upcoming Christmas holidays. Now I'm all set to write down all the little fun things that happen in the next few weeks.

Materials: Humble Pie stamps (Maggie with the Christmas lights), Page Frames acrylic tag booklet, Copic Markers and Spica pens, Little Yellow Bicycle Letter stickers, Savvy'n'Sassy ribbon, Making Memories Epoxy stickers, My Mind's Eye paper, Maya Road sheers.

Also Phebe at the Town Scrapper is having a sale. Buy 1 item and get 2nd of equal or lesser value for 50% off. Sale is on until the middle of January 2010. And note that Phebe's store will be closed from Dec. 11 to 21.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

The Ribbon tree

Good morning! It's a windy day here. I can hear it beating the house right now. Hope your weather is good today, where ever you are.

Today I have a ribbon tree to share with you. You can find the tutorial I posted on the Savvy'n'Sassy blog here. This is a super easy project, a bit time consuming but I love the end product. I bought my Styrofoam tree at Michaels. You can get all different sizes. And all the ribbon is from Savvy'n'Sassy.

I still need a topper for it. I haven't decided what to use yet.

That's it for today. Have a good one!
